The Brookins African Methodist Episcopal Church (BAME)
of Oakland, California welcomes you as our family. The commitment you
have made is a significant one that begins the process of spiritual
growth and development. To that end, it is important that you attend and
complete the six week New Members Class sessions. Mrs. Betty Carthen or
Mr. Ed Johnson will contact you soon regarding the dates of the
sessions. In these sessions you will become part of the fellowship group
that is to be your primary nucleus in the Brookins Family. It is also
essential to your development in the Christian community that you attend
the Pastor’s Bible Study on Wednesday’s at 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Stewardship is a part of the focus of the
Christian Church, and Brookins takes very seriously this responsibility
of cultivating the people and resources that God has entrusted to the
Church’s care. Your regular financial support of the work of the Church,
through tithes and offerings, is mandated by God; and by your giving,
you further God’s work on earth and you will be richly blessed. The
ministries at Brookins are diverse and need your participation. Your
talents, gifts and resources will ensure the success of our work.
We pray God will continue to richly bless you as
we grow and work together in our Master’s Vineyard.
Yours in Christ,
Mark A.
Smith, Sr., D.Min.
